In theory, chats are a way for multiple com members to discuss the versions and life without filling up the screen with IM windows and having to copy/paste everything. In actuality chats are a place where all the com-drama, plotting, injokes, gaming, bitching, and randomness combines together to make an evil creation that is hard to resist.

History
Chats started up back in V3 as far as anyone remembers. They were few and far between at first but became more common when the chatroom group realized that none of them had anything else better to do. Since then, chats are fairly common, especially on the weekends. There are periods where weeks or even months go by without a chat being made but everyone knows that eventually someone will get bored and start them back up again.

Chat Injokes
Grading: If you leave a chat, you will be graded on your exit. To get the grade, we take into account whether you actually announce that you're leaving, whether you give a reason for leaving, and how much time you have between saying that that you're leaving and actually GTFO of the chat room. Too much time and it becomes a false alarm, too little time and your fellow chat members can't bid you farewell. There is a delicate balance that must be respected!

Truth or Dare A slumber party favorite only done online.
Truth or Truth The same as truth or dare only without the dares considering it's difficult to make sure they're being done when everyone is in different time zones.
The Bitchy Wiki Game Someone hits 'random page' on the wiki. Commence bitching about said topic until it becomes boring. Rinse and repeat.
Laurra's Bitchy Wiki Game Laurra hits random page on the wiki and bitches about the page that comes up and everyone else tries to guess what she's bitching about.
Haunted House The story teller assigns a good ghost and a bad ghost to haunt the rest of the people playing. The bad ghost kills off a person every turn while the good ghost protects everyone who is in a room with them. Eventually there will only be one person remaining and they have to figure out who the bad ghost is to win the game. If they're wrong, the bad ghost wins.
Mafia tl;dr. Ask Oscar.
The Dating Game (really should be called Guess The Character) The game show 'host' assigns roles to everyone playing except for the 'contestant' who asks questions that the players must answer in character in order to allow the contestant to guess their identities.
Trivia Could involve many different topics. A quizmaster will throw out questions to the people playing. If you get the question right you get a point.
Finish The Sentence Someone quotes a line from a post but leaves one word (or phrase) blank. The others must guess what the correct word/phrase is. Much lulz is had.
